The Poacher First Aid and Medical Team are looking for staff members to join the team.

With a large number of the Eastbourne District Scout First Aid Team forming the core, we are looking for First Aiders, Pre-Hospital care staff and other Healthcare Professionals to add to the team. We will also be looking for administrator / receptionist and communications staff.
The FA & MT will be strongly influenced by the Purple Guide, and team members will all be working shifts during Poacher. The shift system is based on a three day shift and an overnight shift.
First Aid / FREC / FPOS / FROS
First Aid staff with a Level 3 First Aid qualification minimum and preferably a Level 3 qualification in Pre-Hospital Care (FREC 3, FPOS 3, FROS 3 etc), will be working on First Aid points, forming walking First Aid groups, riding First Aid response bikes, and attending the main arena events. The First Aid staff will assist the Pre-Hospital staff in the treatment and transportation of casualties in the field. These staff will also assist in the Event Medical Centre.
Pre-Hospital Staff
Pre-Hospital staff; ECAs, ECSWs, Technicians, Paramedics, Advanced Paramedics, Critical Care Paramedics, and Paramedic Practitioners.
Pre-Hospital staff will be involved in the treatment and transportation of casualties in the field, as well as working at the Event Medical Centre.
Other Healthcare Professionals
Other Healthcare Professionals will be working mainly in the Event Medical Centre.
We are already investigating the provision of insurance / indemnity for the Poacher camp period for all staff providing care outside that covered by The Scout Association’s insurance.
Reception / Administration
We are also looking for staff to assist the Reception / Administration team. If you are a good communicator and of a caring nature, this may be the very role for you.
Communications and Control staff
Finally, we are looking for a small number of staff to support the Poacher First Aid and Medical team radio Communications and Control staff. Operating out of a purpose-built control vehicle, staff will be dealing with paging, two-way radio, mobile phone and other communications. This is a perfect role for a radio enthusiast or radio amateur, but there is no requirement for you to hold a radio licence.
Applicants must be or become adult members of The Scout Association and/or Guide Association, including completion of DBS check and complete mandatory ongoing learning including Safety, Safeguarding, First Aid and Data Protection.
