Ceremonies
Our Opening Ceremony will start your camp with a bang! A mix of formal welcomes followed by a party atmosphere. The parade into the main arena is the first time you will fully appreciate the scale of the event. The ceremony welcomes all Scouts and Guides to the event and recognises those who have travelled internationally to attend. Once the event is open, the fun really begins!
Whilst we never want the fun to end, the Closing Ceremony is a fitting end to a fantastic week of adventure. With a variety of exciting performances, the ceremony concludes with a huge party and spectacular fireworks display.
Lunchtime entertainment
Poacher welcomes a wide range of exciting displays that take place in the main arena during lunchtime. With plenty of time to return to your subcamp after the morning activity session, collect your packed lunch and find a good vantage point around the arena. From stunt display teams to medieval jousting, there’s never a dull moment!
Evening entertainment
From 7pm till late every evening, the Entertainments Teams will be helping you raise the roof. Always a big hit with the participants, your evenings are set against a festival atmosphere around the camp with live street entertainment, a funfair and performances.
There are a wide range of age specific entertainment venues open each evening including the Main Stage.
If you feel the need to get away from it all for a while, the cinema will be showing films each evening too.
Got Talent
The famous ‘Poacher’s Got Talent’ competition runs throughout the week, giving you the chance to show off your skills.
With auditions and heats running during the camp, the competitions culminate in a live performance from the winners at the closing ceremony.
Come and show us your talents, it’s not just about singing – anything goes from dancing and percussion to magic and mayhem.
Bring your own backing tape, bring along your instruments, but be sure to rehearse your show before you come!
