The Adventure of a Lifetime!
Scouts and Guides keep coming back to Poacher because they are thrilled by the extensive activity programme and the exciting atmosphere. Of course there will be many of the high adrenalin activities but Poacher prides itself on creating new concepts and putting a different spin on existing and traditional challenges.
With everything focused on one huge activity site you won’t have far to move for a non-stop range of Activities and Entertainments to suit all ages and tastes. We also provide some off-site activities, like our special Water Village, and additional Trips to local places of interest.
Poacher has an enviable reputation for creating new activities and experiences. So don’t just come along and do the same activities that you usually would at home or on other camps, take advantage of the wide range on offer and have a go at something completely different. You may just like it!
Activities run from Sunday to Friday, usually starting at 9.30am through to 12.30pm, break for lunch and then from 2.00pm to 5.00pm. Some activities may operate outside of these times, particularly if transport is necessary.
Wow, so how am I going to fit it in? To avoid queuing for ages, and not being herded into zones with the same people everyday, Poacher operates a unique Activity Ticketing system. That way you know which of these activities you are going to be doing, where it takes place and at what time your session starts. The flexibility of the ticketing system allows you to plan out the activities you wish to take part in throughout the week.
Think of your tickets like a fast track pass at an theme park! Whilst a ticket will give you access to an activity at a specific time, participants are still able to queue up for any activity without a ticket filling in spaces as they become available.
Each subcamp HQ will allow you to collect new tickets or swap/share with your friends……How many tickets will you collect?
It is important to realise that if you are not going to use a ticket you could be disadvantaging other participants so it is important you either swap with another participant or at your subcamp HQ.
Some activities are not ticketed so you can turn up and queue as many times as you want!
Our Adventurous activity program is custom designed for all ages of participants. With such a wide range of adventurous activities you will always find something to challenge you!
It is important participants are wearing suitable clothing for each activity for safety. Participants not in the correct clothing may be asked to return to their camp to change before taking part in the activity.
Activities are categorised by ages (All ages, 12+, 14+). Due to Scouting and Guiding rules participants will not be able to take part in activities which are not age appropriate. Information on the age requirements for each activity is shown below and on individual activity tickets.
It is important that where parents have withdrawn permission for participants to take part in certain activities leaders should ensure participants are aware of this fact. Activities will scan all participants to confirm parental permission.
The majority of our activities take place on site however we arrange some offsite activities which require transport. All Off site activities leave from the Transport HQ and will take you on an adventure for a couple of hours or all day.
