Be part of bringing the adventure of a lifetime to over 5,500 Scouting and Girlguiding members, by volunteering to be part of the Poacher 2026 staff team. We are looking for individuals who are willing to support with the planning and lead up to the event, along with during the actual week of Poacher 2026: 1st – 8th August 2026.
Poacher prides itself on providing a number of its own activities (alongside Scout, Guide and Commercial providers).
The Garden Games Team Leader will be responsible for running Crazy Golf, Croquet and Frisbee Golf. Poacher will recruit team members to support the running of this activity (or applications are welcome from an established team of 3-4 individuals). Full training will be provided on the activities.
Applicants must be or become adult members of The Scout Association and/or Guide Association, including completion of DBS check and complete mandatory ongoing learning including Safety, Safeguarding, First Aid and Data Protection.
Key tasks:
- Liaison with Adventurous Activities Manager (Poacher Activities) to facilitate pre-event logistics.
- To facilitate the running of Garden Games.
- Facilitate set up and take down of the activity during the event.
- To manage a small team of staff running this activity.
- To ensure that the activity is run safely in line with risk assessments and other documentation.
